Chapter Seventeen - In which the weather changes and something is lost

After a few minutes I came back to most of my senses. Tate had his arm around my shoulders, and Ezra’s head rested on his wrist. My right leg was draped over Ezra’s thighs, and I had a hand on each of their waists.

“That was something,” Tate said, somewhat dreamily.

“A very good something,” Ezra murmured. He sounded half asleep. His hand found my wrist and he held it lightly - his version of holding hands perhaps?

“What did you think, Gideon?” Tate shifted a little, his hand closing over mine.

“Why is your name Gideon and not Aaron?” Ezra asked.

“Oh hush, now’s not the time for that,” Tate said. “Let the boy recover before he tells us all his secrets.”

“I liked it,” I mumbled. I probably should come clean with them both about my true identity, now that we had shared something so intimate, all three of us. But my head felt full of fog still.

Ezra half turned and stroked my hair back from my shoulder. “Yeah? I liked it too,” he said. Leaning in he kissed my shoulder.

“Me too,” Tate said. He stretched mightily, and I felt all his muscles tense and relax against my side and under my head. “We should probably do it again. This time I want Ezra to fuck me while Gideon rides my face.”

I shivered and my breath hitched for what felt like the thousandth time that day.

“Maybe give him a moment to recover,” Ezra said. He suppressed a laugh.

Tate laughed heartily and my head bobbed up and down on his bicep from the movement, causing me to laugh as well. “Aye, maybe in an hour or so?”

There was a shout from out on deck and then the ship’s bell started to ring. Not just once or twice for the watch, but continuously, insistently.

Tate sat up abruptly. I rolled away so he wouldn’t squash me and found myself pressed against Ezra, our noses practically touching. He stole a kiss and gave me a wink.

“Better check that out.” Tate hurriedly pulled on his trousers.

Ezra kissed me again and Tate leaned over to smack him smartly on the rear, causing him to jolt against me. “You too, Ezra, could be trouble.”

Ezra, grumbling, rolled off the bed and looked around for his own trousers.

I caught sight of his tattoo again. More than simply being a beautiful piece of art on a beautiful man, it tugged at something at my memory.

The bell sounded louder and I scrambled out of bed.

I pulled on my trousers, not wanting to stay alone and naked in the Captain’s cabin.

Tate shoved the door open and swore. Although the sun had barely dropped towards the horizon, the sky was dark with gathering clouds.

“Storm,” Ezra breathed, and pulled his jacket back on. I cast around for my red coat and slipped it on before hurrying out to help in any way I could.

Storms are bad news, I thought wildly. My heart was instantly pounding at the sound of the word, remembering that terrible storm from my time in the Navy.
